The Cumberland Valley Rails-to-Trails Council (CVRTC) needs your help. Whether you are able to give your time or money, we need you! Without your support we cannot fulfill our mission, so it’s important that everyone lend a hand. CVRTC is an all-volunteer 501c(3) non-profit organization that depends on local membership dues and contributions for its operational funds. You can support the trail by becoming a member, volunteering or attending one of our fundraising events. Consider adopting a section of trail, organizing a group work day or donating your time if you have a special skill.
Become a Member
Members are the heart of CVRTC. Because we receive no funding from any municipality or government entity to maintain the trail, members are vital to keeping the existing trail open. Members are entitled to receive our newsletter the Trail-Gram, to attend and vote at membership meetings, to attend board meetings and to seek election as directors. Volunteer
Volunteering for CVRTC is a great way to give back to the community, gain new experiences, and help keep history alive. There are various opportunities that range from small time commitments to large, behind the scenes tasks, working outside on the trail and much more! Click here to volunteer
Make A Donation
Make a cash donation to the Cumberland Valley Rails-to-Trail or the Cumberland Valley Railroad Museum. Donating stocks or mutual funds to CVRTC is a smart and simple way to help the trail. We are always looking for donations of working equipment and tools to help us mow and maintain the trail. Click here to make a donation
Adopt-a-Trail

Events
CVRTC puts on a series of fundraising events through out the year. The events include the Water Wheel 5k in the spring, The Solstice Festival 5k/10 to start the summer and the TrailFest on the Trail to celebrate fall. Ship First Fridays
CVRTC holds Ship First Fridays on the first Friday of the month from April to October at Ship Station. Come out and enjoy the food trucks, beer garden and live music. We need volunteers to set up/clean up and to sell drink tickets. Proceeds from First Fridays benefit the Cumberland Valley Railroad Museum. Click here to learn about First Fridays
